What you will do
As support officer, victim registers, you will support the daily work of the Victim Registers.
You will provide
respectful
,
sensitive
and trauma-informed support to victims of crime.
You will:
respond to phone and written inquiries from victims of crime and other service users.
prepare
clear
and timely letters, reports and information for people and services.
complete data entry, update records and retrieve information while protecting
confidential
information.
assess needs and eligibility, complete family violence risk assessments and make
appropriate
referrals for support.
keep detailed case notes and provide
accurate
information in line with laws, policies and procedures.
About you
A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, criminal justice or a similar field is highly desirable. Relevant experience may also be considered.
You should understand the criminal justice and victim support systems. You should have experience supporting people with
sensitive
and complex needs. You should understand family violence, related laws and services and how to support victims.



You should use computer systems confidently and maintain databases and
confidential
information.
