About the Role
n
The Learning Area Leader (LAL) is responsible to the Vice Rector of Teaching & Learning, through the Heads of School, for providing strategic and operational leadership in the following areas: curriculum planning and programming, pedagogy, teacher professional growth, and coordinating the administrative processes for the Business & Digital Technologies faculty. The LAL embodies the College's Mission, Vision, and strategic priorities by inspiring enthusiastic, innovative, and effective teaching and learning within their Learning Area.

The successful candidate will be appointed to this role for an initial term of four (4) years, in accordance with Clause S****** for Middle Leadership. This appointment includes a permanent teaching position for the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities / Duties
n
n
Establishing a clear vision for the faculty in line with the College's Learning Framework.
n
Leading pedagogy within the faculty and the College in developing and monitoring transparent processes to support the pedagogical development of staff to fulfill the expectations of the College's Learning Framework.
n
Leading the development and dissemination of units of work that meet authority and regulatory body requirements.
n
Establishing clear processes for identifying and supporting at risk students within the Business & Digital Technologies faculty.
n




Working in collaboration with the Heads of School to mentor and support students in areas including academic improvement, organisation and study skills specific to the Business & Digital Technologies faculty.

Desired Skills and Experience
n
To be considered for this role, you should have:
n
n
Current Queensland Teacher Registration (or the capacity to obtain)
n
Bachelor of Education or equivalent, and relevant experience, particularly in the areas of effective practice.
n
Demonstrated achievement in school leadership.
n
Demonstrated understanding of curriculum development and employing authority Policy and Procedure.
n
