About the role
We're looking for an experienced Skilled Fabricator with a strong background in aluminium fabrication to join our team. This is a hands-on role covering workshop fabrication as well as on-site installation across our commercial fitout projects — so you'll need to be equally comfortable running a job in the shop and delivering it on site.
Key responsibilities
Fabricate aluminium components to specification, including screens, balustrades, frames and custom architectural elements
Read and work from architectural and engineering drawings, shop drawings and fabrication schedules
Cut, weld (TIG/MIG), form and finish aluminium and associated metals to a high standard
Prepare accurate cutting lists and material take-offs from drawings
Carry out on-site installation of fabricated products, working alongside site teams and other trades
Conduct on-site measure-ups and verify dimensions against shop drawings prior to fabrication
Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards and project specifications
Maintain a secure workshop and site environment in line with WHS requirements
Liaise with project managers and site supervisors on programme, sequencing and access
About you
Trade-qualified Boilermaker/Fabricator (Certificate III or equivalent) – highly regarded
Proven experience in aluminium fabrication (essential) — architectural/facade fabrication experience highly regarded
Confident TIG welding aluminium; MIG/steel welding experience also valued
Comfortable working both in the workshop and on commercial construction sites
Current driver's licence
Current White Card (construction induction)
Working at Heights and EWP tickets highly regarded (or willingness to obtain)
Strong drawing interpretation and attention to dimensional accuracy
Good communicator, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
