We are currently seeking a proactive and motivated Health & Safety Coordinator to join our Rockhampton team in a part-time capacity.

About the Role
n
The Health & Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our health and safety systems across operational and office environments.
n
Working closely with operational teams, supervisors, and project staff, you will help drive a strong safety culture, support compliance obligations, and contribute to safe and efficient project delivery across the business.
n
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, engaging with frontline workers, and making a genuine impact on workplace safety outcomes.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Conduct site safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company procedures and legislative requirements
n
Monitor workplace activities and identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities
n
Support incident and near miss investigations, including reporting and corrective actions
n
Conduct risk assessments and assist with implementation of risk controls
n




Review SWMS and other safety documentation for compliance and effectiveness
n
Provide practical safety advice and support to operational teams and supervisors
n
Deliver toolbox talks and safety communications
n
Coordinate safety training and verification of competencies
n
Maintain safety records, registers, and compliance documentation
n
Support safety initiatives, improvement programs, and company-wide safety activities
n
Promote and contribute to a positive and proactive safety culture across the organisation
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
n
n
Experience in a health, safety, or HSE role within construction, rail, civil, infrastructure, or similar operational environments
n
Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
n
Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations
n
Excellent hazard identification and risk management skills
n
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
n
A collaborative and proactive approach to safety improvement
n
Strong organisational and administrative skills
n

Qualifications & Requirements
n
n
Relevant Health & Safety or HSE
qualification/certification
n
Experience working within safety management systems
n
Experience within rail, civil construction, or infrastructure industries
n
Incident investigation
training/certification
