An established Australian-owned national business employing more than 1,500 people is seeking an experienced People & Culture Operations Manager to play a key role in strengthening and maturing its People & Culture operating model.
This is a broad leadership role with responsibility for P&C; operations, talent acquisition, remuneration frameworks, people systems, policy and process governance, workforce data and continuous improvement.
Working closely with the General Manager - People & Culture, you will lead a small team and partner across P&C;, Payroll, Operations, Finance and technology stakeholders to build productive, connected and compliant people processes.
This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys building structure, improving how things work and translating strategic direction into practical frameworks, systems and processes, while still being comfortable rolling up their sleeves when needed.
The role
Leading the P&C; Operations team, including centralised recruitment and people operations.
Providing leadership across internal recruitment while remaining hands-on where required, including recruitment of senior salaried and specialist roles.
Establishing and maintaining remuneration frameworks for both hourly and salaried employees.
Developing salary structures, pay ranges and governance to improve consistency in remuneration decisions.
Supporting the design and implementation of incentives, bonuses, allowances and employee benefits.
Owning and improving employee lifecycle processes from recruitment and onboarding through to employee changes and offboarding.
Taking functional ownership of the organisation's HRIS and ensuring people data, positions,
workflows and approvals are effectively governed.
Designing and improving workflows across P&C;, Payroll and operational workforce systems.
Ensuring systems, forms and workflows appropriately reflect Awards, Enterprise Agreements and other employment requirements.
Reviewing and strengthening employment contract templates, forms, standard correspondence and P&C; documentation.
Leading the review and implementation of P&C; policies and procedures and addressing identified gaps in the current framework.
Establishing effective document control, review cycles and governance.
Strengthening recruitment processes, service standards and pre-employment compliance.
Coordinating workforce reporting, WGEA reporting and broader P&C; compliance requirements.
Identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce duplication and automate manual work.
Building strong working relationships between P&C;, Payroll and operational teams to support accurate and compliant employee, rostering and payroll outcomes.
About you
You may currently be working as an HR Operations Manager, People Operations Manager, HR Services Manager, People Services Manager or senior P&C; professional with broad operational experience.
You will ideally bring strong experience across P&C; operations and recruitment,
together with a good understanding of how HR systems, employee data, payroll and workforce processes connect.
Previous responsibility for, or close involvement with, a payroll function would be highly regarded. This could include having led a payroll team, partnered closely with payroll operations or held responsibility for processes spanning HRIS, payroll and workforce systems.
You will also bring experience in remuneration or reward frameworks, strong policy and process capability, confidence leading a small team, and the ability to work effectively across Operations, Finance, Payroll and technology stakeholders.
Experience within a large, multi-site, frontline workforce, particularly one operating under Awards and Enterprise Agreements, will be highly regarded.
