Are you an experienced Merchandise Planner who understands how to turn sales data, stock and customer demand into strong commercial results?
We are recruiting an experienced
Merchandise Planner
to join a well-established retail business within its
Cookware & Homewares
category.
Working closely with the buying and merchandise teams, you will take ownership of merchandise planning across your category, ensuring the right product is available in the right quantities and at the right time.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planner who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment and wants to have a genuine influence on category performance.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and managing seasonal and annual merchandise plans
Forecasting sales, stock, intake and margin
Managing inventory levels and maintaining appropriate stock cover
Reviewing sales performance and identifying opportunities and risks
Monitoring sell-through, stock turns and markdown requirements
Managing open-to-buy and ensuring stock investment is commercially sound
Analysing product, category and store performance
Providing recommendations regarding replenishment, markdowns and stock allocation
Working closely with Buyers to develop commercially successful ranges
Reviewing historical performance to support future range and buying decisions
Identifying trends and responding quickly to changes in customer demand
Preparing regular reporting and providing meaningful commercial insights to the wider business
About You
We are looking for someone with:
Previous experience as a
Merchandise Planner, Senior Merchandise Planner or experienced Assistant Planner ready to step up
Strong retail merchandise planning experience
Experience within
cookware, homewares, household goods or a related retail category
would be highly regarded
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent Excel and reporting capabilities
Sound understanding of stock management, forecasting, margin and inventory control
The ability to interpret data and translate it into commercial actions
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with Buyers and senior stakeholders
A hands-on, commercially focused approach
The ability to work effectively in a fast-moving retail setting
