Gaschill is seeking an experienced
Qualified Refrigeration Mechanic
to join our team in Braeside, VIC. This is a
full-time position
offering the opportunity to work with a leading provider in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems for both commercial and industrial clients. This role is pivotal to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring our clients receive reliable, high-quality service. Must be a leader, enjoying installing and working with a team.
What you'll be doing
Installing, commissioning and maintaining commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems
Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults in refrigeration equipment
Performing preventative maintenance and service work to ensure optimal system performance
Carrying out repairs and replacements of components such as compressors, evaporators, condensers and control systems
Testing refrigeration systems for leaks and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Reading and interpreting technical blueprints, wiring diagrams and system specifications
Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and provide qualified advice on system improvements
Maintaining accurate records of all work completed and materials used
Adhering to all health and safety protocols and industry standards
Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and sharing knowledge with team members
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics or equivalent industry experience
Current or eligible for a Victorian Certificate of Competency in Refrigerating Work (or equivalent state-based qualification)
Hands-on experience in refrigeration and air conditioning installation and maintenance
Sound knowledge of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics and electrical systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and specialised tools
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to client interaction
A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites
Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with relevant legislation
Physical fitness to handle heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions
Experience with both commercial and industrial refrigeration systems is advantageous
Knowledge of current refrigerants and EPA compliance is highly valued
