We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Sumner, Queensland. This permanent, full-time position is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

ABOUT THE ROLE
n
This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to leadership. You'll own the month-end close, bookkeeping and reconciliations for the dispensary business, manage the weekly sell-through invoicing and reconciliation back to the head entity, and act as a genuine business partner to the clinic business on budgeting, forecasting and process improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
n
n
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
n
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
n
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances,



and opportunities for improvement.
n
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
n
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to support financial planning.
n
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax return preparation.
n
Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
n
Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
n
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a mid-senior role.
n
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly desirable.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
n
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
n
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
n
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
