Team Transport & Logistics is seeking a skilled and experienced
Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
to join our growing team in Acacia Ridge, QLD. This is a
full-time position
that plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of our fleet. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and servicing heavy vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring our operations run smoothly and our vehicles remain roadworthy. This position is integral to our commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
Perform routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles including trucks, trailers and related equipment
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues accurately
Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with roadworthiness standards and safety regulations
Repair and replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and hydraulic systems
Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work completed on vehicles
Advise drivers and fleet managers on vehicle maintenance requirements and repair recommendations
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures
Contribute to a safe and organised workshop environment, maintaining tools and equipment in good condition
What we're looking for
Current Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualifications or equivalent recognised certification
Proven experience working on heavy vehicles, including trucks, trailers and commercial fleet vehicles




Strong knowledge of engine systems, brake systems, electrical systems, transmission and suspension
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and service specifications
Current or valid driver's licence (manual vehicles preferred)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements relevant to automotive maintenance
Experience with fleet maintenance or transport industry operations is highly desirable
