Local Law Officer

About the roles

Local Law Officer
n
n
$39 to $43/hr + super
n
Full time, 38 hours per week
n
Investigate and enforce breaches of local laws and subordinate legislation
n
Issue notices and infringements, and follow matters through to resolution
n
Educate the community and manage customer expectations in sometimes difficult situations
n
$39/hr + super
n
Full time, 38 hours per week
n
Investigate animal barking, noise and nuisance complaints
n
Install and monitor audio recording devices and gather evidence
n
Provide advice to pet owners on resolving noise issues and achieving voluntary compliance
n
$39 to $*****/hr + super
n
Full time, 38 hours per week, working a 10 days on, 4 days off roster
n
Investigate breaches of local laws relating to park usage, including illegal dumping,
parking and nuisances
n
Issue directions, compliance notices and infringements
n
Engage with the community, Police and other stakeholders on park safety matters
n
n
Preferred Requirements
n
n
Current C class driver's licence (essential across all roles)
n
Experience conducting investigations and enforcing legislation or local laws
n
Robust communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to manage difficult or sensitive situations
n
Confidence maintaining accurate records and preparing evidentiary reports
n
Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, background check and required vaccinations (Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus, plus Q fever for some roles)
n

Preferred Qualifications
n
n
Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar highly regarded, though not essential
n
Prior experience in a local government, regulatory or compliance environment is an advantage
n
