We are seeking a qualified and experienced Horticulturist / Gardener to join our team on a full-time basis, caring for established and beautifully maintained iconic Mornington Peninsula gardens at Wallaby Downs in Merricks North. Working closely with the General Manager of the Properties, and under the direction of the property owners, you will play a key role in maintaining the gardens and surrounding grounds to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Lawn mowing and overall grounds maintenance
Pruning of hedges, fruit trees and general pruning
Watering, weeding, and replanting
Fertilising and pest management
Maintaining gardens and grounds to a tidy, high standard
Maintenance and care of tools and equipment
Maintaining and monitoring irrigation systems
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Extensive experience and sound knowledge of horticulture,



including both native and non-native plants
A strong work ethic and the physical fitness required for outdoor work in all weather conditions
A reliable, detail-oriented approach
The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
The ability to follow instructions from both property owners and the General Manager
A current chainsaw license
Experience with ride on mowers
Able to operate a tractor and bobcat preferred.
A friendly, skilled, and well-presented demeanor with strong written and oral communication.
