An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced commercial leader to join a well-established international investment and business group with a significant presence across the Asia-Pacific region.
n
Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, this position will play a key role in identifying, evaluating and executing new business and investment opportunities while driving strategic growth initiatives across Australia and Current Zealand.
n
The role works closely with senior stakeholders across Australia, Japan, and the broader Asia-Pacific region, including regular collaboration with Japanese stakeholders and affiliated group companies. Candidates with Japanese language skills or experience working within Japanese corporate environments are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
n
This position combines strategic planning, investment evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and business development. The successful candidate will help drive long-term growth through strategic investments, partnerships, acquisitions, and new business ventures across a diverse portfolio.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Identifying and developing new business and investment opportunities
n
Conducting commercial assessments, market analysis, financial evaluation, and business case development
n
Leading due diligence processes and supporting transaction execution
n
Developing strategic partnerships, joint ventures,



and commercial collaborations
n
Driving growth initiatives across existing and emerging sectors
n
Building relationships with investors, industry leaders, government stakeholders, and external partners
n
Advising executive management on market opportunities, industry developments, and strategic priorities
n
Representing the organisation in negotiations, industry forums, and stakeholder engagements
n
n
Your Profile
n
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
n
n
Extensive experience in business development, corporate development, investment, strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, or a related commercial leadership role.
n
Demonstrated experience evaluating and executing investments, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, or growth initiatives.
n
Strong commercial, financial, and stakeholder management capabilities.
n
Experience preparing business cases, investment proposals, and strategic recommendations for executive-level decision makers.
n
Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
n
Experience working across the Asia-Pacific region or within multinational organisations.
n
Japanese language capability and/or experience working with Japanese companies, investors, trading houses, or corporate environments is highly desirable.
n
An understanding of Japanese business culture and decision-making processes will be viewed favourably.
n
n
Experience within Healthcare &Wellness;, Food & Nutrition, Retail & Consumer, Digital Services, orother consumer-related sectors will be highly regarded.
