Head of Mathematics (Years 7-12)
to lead its Mathematics faculty and deliver high-quality teaching across the senior years.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mathematics educator who combines strong subject expertise with the ability to lead, support and inspire both students and colleagues.
The successful candidate will have the capability to teach
VCE Specialist Mathematics
, with the ability to teach
VCE Mathematical Methods
also highly regarded.
The Role
As Head of Mathematics, you will provide leadership across the Years 7-12 Mathematics program while maintaining a meaningful classroom teaching load.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the Mathematics faculty across Years 7-12
Teaching
VCE Specialist Mathematics
Teaching
VCE Mathematical Methods
Supporting consistently high standards of teaching and learning
Providing guidance, mentoring and support to Mathematics teaching staff
Contributing to curriculum planning, development and continuous improvement
Monitoring student progress and supporting strong academic outcomes
Fostering enthusiasm, confidence and engagement in Mathematics
Working collaboratively with the broader teaching and leadership team
About You




You will be an experienced and passionate Mathematics educator with:
Current VIT registration
Strong demonstrated experience with the Australian Curriculum and VCE Mathematics
Demonstrated experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Strong capability in
VCE Specialist Mathematics
Experience teaching
VCE Mathematical Methods
highly regarded
Leadership experience, or the capability and desire to take on a faculty leadership position
A collaborative and supportive leadership style
Robust communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine commitment to student learning and academic growth
Full-Time or Part-Time
