People & Culture & Educational Leader – Multi-Site
Bayswater & Mooroolbark | 3 days per week | A unique leadership role combining People, Culture and Pedagogy.
We are looking for an experienced People & Culture and Educational Leader to join our leadership team and work across our two early learning services in Bayswater and Mooroolbark. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional who is passionate about educational practice, developing people and creating positive workplace cultures.
Working three days per week across our two services, you will have a genuine opportunity to make a difference to the way our teams work, communicate, develop and support one another.
About the role
This role brings together two important areas of leadership:
Educational Leadership
Lead and strengthen educational practice, play spaces and igniting passion across both services.
Mentor and support educators, room leaders and emerging leaders.
Support teams to reflect on and continually improve their practice.
Provide guidance around programming, documentation and reflective practice.
Support implementation of the EYLF, NQS and continuous improvement priorities.
Work alongside Centre Directors and leadership teams to strengthen outcomes for children and families.
Support teams in preparing for assessment and rating.
People & Culture
Work alongside Centre Directors to build a positive, respectful and accountable workplace culture.
Strengthen staff induction and professional development.
Coach leaders through performance conversations and staff development.
Support the early resolution of workplace concerns and conflict.




Help leaders have difficult conversations confidently and respectfully.
Identify opportunities to improve team engagement, communication and retention.
Contribute to workforce planning and succession planning.
Help create an workplace where people feel safe to raise concerns and where issues are addressed fairly and respectfully.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who understands that great outcomes for children start with strong relationships between the adults who care for them. You may currently be an experienced Educational Leader, Assistant Director, Centre Director, Area Leader or an experienced early childhood professional with strong people and leadership experience.
You will ideally have:
Significant experience in early childhood education and care.
A Bachelor of Teaching or equivalent.
Excellent knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework.
Experience mentoring and developing educators.
Confidence supporting leaders with performance and people matters.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to have challenging conversations with empathy, clarity and professionalism.
A genuine interest in workplace culture and staff development.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently across two locations.




A proactive approach and the ability to identify opportunities rather than simply respond to problems.
A warm, approachable and relationship-focused leadership style.
A solution based approach to challenges.
What makes this role different?
This isn't a traditional Educational Leader position. And it isn't simply a HR position.
It's a role for someone who can bring pedagogical leadership and people leadership together.
Someone who can support an educator to reflect more deeply on their practice, coach a room leader through a challenge, help a Centre Director navigate a difficult staff conversation and identify ways to build a stronger team culture.
You'll have the opportunity to work across two services, getting to know the people, strengths and challenges of each team and helping create consistency while recognising that every service has its own identity.
