Position: Full-Time Breakfast Chef Location: The Spirited Goat – Otto’s Market Precinct Employment Type: Full-Time Start Date: Immediate / ASAPHours: Approximately 35-38 hours per week Roster: Variable roster, including weekdays, weekends and public holidays if required
About The Role /n
The Spirited Goat is seeking an experienced and motivated Breakfast Chef to join our busy kitchen team at Otto’s Market Precinct.
/n
This is a hands‑on position suited to a confident chef who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume breakfast environment and can consistently deliver quality food while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
Key Responsibilities /n
/n
- Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch menu items to a consistently high standard.
/n
- Efficiently manage breakfast service during busy and high‑volume periods.
/n
- Complete all required preparation and mise en place prior to service.
/n
- Ensure food is prepared, cooked and presented in accordance with established menu and venue standards.
/n
- Follow recipes, cooking procedures and presentation requirements consistently.
/n
- Maintain appropriate portion control and minimise food waste.
/n
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.
/n
- Ensure all food is stored, labelled, handled and prepared in accordance with food safety requirements.
/n
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen throughout preparation and service.
/n
- Monitor stock levels and communicate stock and preparation requirements to management.
/n
- Assist with stock rotation and general kitchen organisation.
/n
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members and front‑of‑house staff.
/n
- Assist with general kitchen duties, cleaning and close‑down procedures as required.
/n
- Comply with all workplace health and safety, food safety and operational requirements.
/n
- Contribute to a positive, professional and respectful kitchen environment.
/n
About You /n
The successful candidate will have:
/n
/n
- Previous experience as a chef, preferably within a busy breakfast, brunch, café or high‑volume kitchen environment.
/n
- Strong breakfast cooking and preparation skills.
/n
- The ability to confidently manage high‑volume service.
/n
- The ability to work efficiently and independently while also contributing effectively to a small team.
/n
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
/n
- Robust attention to detail and a commitment to food quality.
/n
- A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
/n
- The ability to remain calm, organised and professional under pressure.
/n
- A reliable and punctual approach to work.
/n
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
/n
- The ability to follow established recipes, procedures and standards.
/n
- Flexibility and availability to work weekends and varying shifts.
/n
Shift Requirements /n
The role primarily involves early morning and daytime breakfast shifts , including weekends.
/n
The successful applicant must be available to work a variable roster , including weekends and public holidays when required.
