Lead multiple high-volume retail businesses in one of WA's most unique locations.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Retail Leader to take overall responsibility for a portfolio of established retail businesses on Rottnest Island, spanning large-format grocery, liquor and bakery operations.

This is a genuine senior leadership opportunity for someone who understands what it takes to run a high-performing retail operation from sales, GP and labour productivity through to stock, availability, customer experience and, most importantly, people.

You might currently be a Store Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, Operations Manager or senior supermarket leader ready to step into a broader business leadership role.

Why this role?

This is not a desk-based GM position.

You'll be highly visible across the operation, working closely with Store Managers and their teams across multiple sites on the island, understanding what is happening on the ground and making decisions that directly impact the performance of the business.

With significant seasonal peaks, high customer volumes and the added complexity of Island logistics, no two days will look quite the same.

You'll have the autonomy to lead, improve and grow the operation, while working closely with an experienced senior leadership team.

What you'll be responsible for

- Lead the overall retail operation across multiple high-volume stores and business units
- Develop and lead Store Managers and senior retail leaders
- Own key commercial metrics including sales, GP, wages, productivity, waste and profitability
- Drive consistent standards across customer service, presentation, availability and store execution
- Build effective workforce plans and rostering strategies around significant seasonal fluctuations
- Lead stock management, ranging, merchandising and waste control
- Recruit,



develop and retain high-performing retail teams
- Set clear KPIs and hold leaders accountable for performance
- Identify opportunities to grow sales, improve margins and strengthen the customer offer
- Work collaboratively with support functions across buying, fresh, finance, people, marketing and operations
- Ensure high standards across compliance, food safety, WHS and operational procedures
- Build a solid culture where teams work together and operate with a shared sense of purpose
- Be hands-on when required and lead from the front during peak trading periods

What we're looking for

We're keen to speak with senior retail operators who have genuinely run large, complex retail environments.
Your background could be within:

- Supermarkets or grocery
- Big-box or large-format retail
- High-volume multi-site retail
- FMCG-led retail environments
- Other complex, high-volume customer-facing operations

You'll ideally bring:

- Significant experience leading large teams and multiple layers of management
- Strong commercial understanding across sales, GP, wages, budgets and profitability
- Proven experience leading Store Managers or senior operational teams
- A strong understanding of store execution, stock, availability, merchandising and labour
- Experience navigating significant peaks and fluctuations in trade
- Excellent workforce planning and rostering capability
- Strong leadership presence and the ability to bring people with you
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to make decisions quickly
- A genuine passion for retail and creating high-performing teams
