Surfers Paradise
We're a social media agency on the Gold Coast working with creators who make real content, and we've done about ten billion views doing it across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook. We're looking for an experienced social media manager to work in-house with us, take ownership of parts of the operation, and come along on the occasional trip here and overseas.
We already make plenty of content. The job is making sure it lands properly across all the accounts, in the right balance, and then paying attention to what actually happened once it went up.
Your role
- The posting schedule and the balance across all the accounts
- The pipeline from an idea to something published, including approving the edits
- The comments and community across the brands
- The numbers, and what we change because of them
We want someone who takes all of that and runs it, rather than someone who does the tasks and brings every decision back to us.
You'd help build the plan, and then you'd have the authority to hold people to it, including us. You wouldn't be making every call in week one, but we're looking for someone who wants to end up owning the lot. For the right person over time, that could include a real stake in the business, not just the job.
Day to day you'd be working directly with us and our wider social team.
One of the architects, not just a creator
This isn't a content creator job, you'd be one of the architects. But you'd help run the shoot days, you'd be behind the camera when it needs holding, and you'd edit some of the videos yourself.
You need to be a good editor, though we're not after the next Thelma Schoonmaker. If you can edit in CapCut, great. If you've been editing in anything else,
CapCut is easy to learn and there's no excuse in 2026.
The kind of content we make
Our content is funny, adventurous, silly and honestly quite random. We want someone who is genuinely into making that kind of content and would happily be in the middle of it, rather than someone whose interest is polished lifestyle or beauty work.
We do need someone who can be a bit less rough around the edges than us, but if you're afraid to get your hair wet then it might not be a positive fit!
AI
Knowing how to use AI is important (we don't have long left so we might as well use it before it takes us all!), though not for making the content itself. We're not looking for someone who just gets ChatGPT to write every caption.
What matters is keeping up with the tech, knowing how to prompt efficiently to automate tasks and find a competitive advantage, and being willing to learn from us the parts you don't know yet.
The practical stuff
- It's on the Gold Coast with us, five days a week. It isn't remote and it isn't hybrid, but it isn't a cookie-cutter office job either: the schedule moves with the shoots and there'll be WFH days.
- Trips a few times a year, here and overseas. You see travelling for work as a perk, not a penalty.
- Permanent and full time from day one
- At least three years actually running accounts rather than assisting on them
- A licence and a car, because we shoot on location
- If you're interstate and interested, we can help with relocation for the right person
How to apply
Send your CV, and more importantly send us examples. Accounts you've grown, and a content plan you've actually run. If you're a creator yourself, show us how you've done if you want. No examples, no interview.
