About You

The Early Years Health Coordinator for Ipswich will provide leadership and strategic oversight of the operations and management of the Community Early Years Health program. The Allied Health professional will provide culturally responsive allied health and early intervention services to children and families across 5 Ipswich school-based hubs.

The program will include:

Immunisation Education through school-based hubs

Action-based community research involving broad consultations with families, communities and mapping of existing services, health access gaps, developmental needs and engagement with stakeholders and providers to ensure alignment and commissioning.

Implementation of an integrated early years health access model of care across the 5 community hubs and support the growth of the program and affiliated projects to meet the needs of vulnerable communities across service regions. Using Allied health expertise will inform further development of the CALD specialist evidence-based model.

The program will have a solid focus on equity, child health and wellbeing.

- The outcomes will involve a place-based response developed in partnerships with the community,



and health system with a focus on referral pathways to GP’s
- Improved access to allied health through community hubs
- Increased engagement of multicultural families in primary care
- Earlier identification and support to address of developmental and health needs
- Reduced fragmentation through integrated delivery
- More effective culturally responsive commissioning approaches

Essential Criteria

Relevant tertiary qualifications in occupational therapy, psychology or speech pathology as an advantage.

- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (APHRA, and/or certification with the relevant professional regulatory/oversight body: the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, the Psychology Board of Australia, or Speech Pathology Australia, as applicable.
- Demonstrated understanding of the local needs and experiences of migrant and refugee communities, including humanitarian entrants, with a strong focus on the needs of parents/caregivers and children aged 0–5 years.
- Solid knowledge and application of community development principles and place-based integrated care.




- Proven ability to lead, support, and develop teams delivering community-based programs that respond to the needs of vulnerable families and promote community connection and participation.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and collaborative relationships with community groups, service providers, and government stakeholders to enhance program outcomes and community impact.
- Sound understanding of governance and program accountability, including experience delivering against funding agreements, meeting reporting requirements, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement across local and national initiatives.
- Ability to identify and appropriately manage risks and conflicts of interest within program delivery and partnerships.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
