Senior Advocate - Bibimbiya Jan-Ga Buru, Broome Family Domestic Violence Hub
Female-only position
Full-time | Maximum-term until 30th June 2028 | Broome
Help strengthen specialist FDV practice while remaining connected to frontline work with women, children and families.
MOSAC is seeking an experienced Family and Domestic Violence practitioner to provide practice leadership and mentoring to the Hub's Advocate team while managing a limited caseload of complex matters.
This is a maximum-term position linked to current Hub funding.
Under section 27 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position.

Men's Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation (MOSAC) has supported individuals, families and communities across the Kimberley since 2001 through culturally grounded and community-led programs.
About Bibimbiya Jan-Ga Buru / Broome FDV Hub
Bibimbiya Jan-Ga Buru is the Broome Family and Domestic Violence Hub. The Hub brings together MOSAC, Family Outreach Service, Anglicare WA, Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation, Jalygurr Guwan Aboriginal Corporation, Broome Circle and Legal Aid WA to provide coordinated specialist support to women, children and families. The Hub also provides outreach to Derby and Bidyadanga. These positions are employed by MOSAC and work within the Hub partnership.
What We Offer
- Full-time salary of $119,370 per annum

About The Role
The Senior Advocate provides day-to-day practice leadership, coaching and case consultation to Advocates and acts as an escalation point for complex and high-risk matters.
The role works closely with the Hub Manager and Clinical Lead. The Hub Manager retains formal people-management responsibility,
while the Clinical Lead is responsible for clinical governance and formal clinical supervision.
What You Will Do
- Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed and victim-survivor-centred advocacy, safety planning and case management.
- Manage a limited caseload that allows time for mentoring, case consultation and practice improvement.
- Coach Advocates in risk assessment, safety planning, documentation and service coordination.
- Support consistent practice standards and identify matters requiring management, clinical or cultural escalation.
- Coordinate responses with Hub partners and external services and contribute to integrated practice.
- Support service quality, accurate data, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Travel to Derby and Bidyadanga when required.
About You
You are an experienced specialist FDV practitioner with sound judgement, strong case-management capability and the confidence to guide other practitioners without losing sight of client choice and safety.
You work respectfully with Aboriginal women, families and communities and can build productive relationships across a multidisciplinary service system.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Counselling or another relevant human-services discipline, or substantial equivalent specialist experience
- Current WA Driver's Licence
- Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check before commencement
- Demonstrated competence in specialist FDV risk assessment, safety planning and complex case management
- Ability to undertake mandatory training and travel as required

Referee details will be requested from shortlisted candidates. MOSAC's recruitment process includes two professional referees and one cultural referee.
Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated specialist experience supporting women and children affected by FDV, including complex risk assessment, safety planning and case management.
2. Experience mentoring, coaching or providing practice guidance to practitioners in a multidisciplinary environment.
3. Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal people and communities using culturally safe approaches.
4. Strong judgement, communication and documentation skills, including the ability to recognise and escalate clinical, cultural and management concerns.
5. Ability to build effective partnerships and coordinate responses across community and government services.
