C.H. West Wash Pty Ltd is looking for a Roof Tiler to join our team for roof restoration and repair work. We’re chasing someone long term, someone who wants to become part of the team and grow with the business.
Work will include
- Ridge cap Bedding and pointing
- Pressure cleaning as part of restorations
- Replacing tiles
- Valley replacements
- Flashing repairs / replacements
- General roof repair + restoration tasks
- Studying drawings, specifications and work sites to determine materials required
- Erecting ladders and scaffolds
- Placing and securing waterproof sheets over eaves
- Nailing and stapling roofing underlay to roofs
- Aligning starter rows of roofing material with edges of roofs, securing with wire, staples and nails, and overlapping successive layers of tiles
- Sizing and cutting roofing material to fit around vents, chimney edges, corners and ridges
- Fixing edge and ridge tiles in cement bedding mortar
- Slipping roofing material under prefabricated flashing and nailing it down
- Caulking and flashing exposed nail heads to prevent leaks
What you’ll get
- Full time employment – 38 hours per week guaranteed
- Overtime paid for anything over 38 hours (OT available if you want it)
- $41–$55/hr depending on experience, equivalent to an annual salary not below $80,000 excluding superannuation and benefits.
- All tools supplied
- Take-home company Ute + fuel card available for more experienced candidates
- Regular pay reviews (pay goes up as you get better)
What we’re looking for
· Proven experience in roof tiling, including bedding and pointing ridge caps, installing valleys and flashings, installing sarking, battens and tiles.
· Experience working with a variety of terracotta roof tiles
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work
- A positive attitude – we’re a friendly and relaxed team
- A valid manual driver’s licence
- A friendly demeanour and ability to interact positively with customers and coworkers
