McMahon Services is looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our Building & Construction team in Port Pirie, South Australia.

This is a excellent opportunity for a practical construction professional who enjoys being out on site but is equally comfortable stepping into the office to coordinate works, manage documentation and keep projects moving.

You’ll be working as part of our team delivering various construction works and projects for our client, Nyrstar, at their Port Pirie operations. Working within a live industrial environment, strong planning, communication, safety awareness and stakeholder management will be key to your success.

We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front, build positive relationships with trades and subcontractors and work closely with our project team and client to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.

About the Role

Based in Port Pirie, you’ll support the delivery of a variety of construction works and projects for Nyrstar within their operational industrial site.

As Site Supervisor, you’ll coordinate day-to-day site activities, trades, subcontractors, plant, materials and safety while working closely with the Project Site Manager and wider project team.

Importantly, this role offers a genuine mix of site and office-based responsibilities. Alongside supervising works in the field, you’ll be involved in planning upcoming activities, reviewing documentation, coordinating resources, completing reports and supporting project administration. This mix of responsibilities was a key feature retained from the updated draft.





You’ll need to be comfortable moving between the two environments and keeping communication flowing between the site team, project team, subcontractors and Nyrstar stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

- Supervise day-to-day construction activities at the Nyrstar Port Pirie site.
- Coordinate trades, subcontractors, labour, plant and materials.
- Plan and coordinate upcoming works with the Project Site Manager and project team.
- Monitor site progress, productivity, quality and programme requirements.
- Lead pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site safety activities.
- Review and support the preparation of SWMS, JSAs and risk assessments.
- Assist with RFIs, variations, delays and other project documentation.
- Complete site diaries, progress reports and other project records.
- Maintain strong communication between site and office-based project teams.
- Build positive working relationships with Nyrstar, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Work effectively within a live operational industrial environment.
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to required quality standards.

These responsibilities align with the amended draft, including working with the Project Site Manager and maintaining the balance between site delivery, reporting and project coordination.

What You’ll Bring

- Previous experience in a Site Supervisor, Site Foreman or similar construction leadership role.
- Commercial, industrial or building construction experience.
- Strong practical understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
- Ability to coordinate trades, subcontractors and site resources.
- Confidence working across both site and office-based responsibilities.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and project documentation.
- Experience with site safety documentation including SWMS, JSAs and risk assessments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Construction White Card and current Driver’s Licence.




- Senior First Aid qualification, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to meet Nyrstar and project-specific site access requirements.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing.
