Banjo's Bakery Cafe is seeking enthusiastic and friendly Sales Assistants to join our team in Idalia, QLD. This is a casual position that offers flexible working arrangements, perfect for those seeking part-time or variable hours. As a Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our business, delivering exceptional customer service whilst supporting the smooth operation of our bakery cafe. You'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile and a delicious treat.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serving customers with warmth and professionalism, taking orders and processing payments accurately
- Operating point-of-sale systems and handling cash transactions
- Displaying and restocking products to maintain an attractive and organised sales area
- Answering customer enquiries about our bakery items, beverages and cafe offerings
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the customer-facing areas
- Supporting the preparation and presentation of food and beverages
- Assisting with stock management and ordering procedures as required
- Building positive relationships with regular customers to encourage repeat business
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in retail, customer service or hospitality environments (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and cash handling
- Reliability and flexibility to work variable hours as required in a casual role
- A positive attitude, teamwork mentality and willingness to learn
- Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification (where applicable)
- Neat personal presentation and skilled approach
