Women's Health Goulburn North East (WHGNE) is seeking a Mobile Community Connector – Ovens Murray to support community engagement, health promotion and prevention activities across the Ovens Murray region.

About WHGNE

For more than 30 years, Women's Health Goulburn North East (WHGNE) has worked to improve women's health, safety and economic wellbeing across the Goulburn Murray and North East Victoria region, including Mitchell Shire. As a feminist health promotion and advocacy organisation, we use evidence to address the systemic inequalities that shape women's lives and outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Community Coordinator – Ovens Murray, the Mobile Community Connector supports engagement and connection activities that strengthen local communities and improve access to health promotion and prevention initiatives.

This role works directly with community members, partners and stakeholders to increase awareness, participation and connection to programs that improve health, safety and wellbeing outcomes.

Using gendered, intersectional and equity-focused approaches, you will support the delivery of community-based activities, gather local insights, strengthen partnerships and contribute to evaluation and reporting activities across the region.

This role includes regular travel and community engagement across the Ovens Murray region, with frequent in-person commitments typically 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement and Program Delivery





- Support the delivery of health promotion and prevention activities in local communities.

- Assist with community workshops, events and awareness-raising campaigns.

- Support co-designed health literacy and service navigation activities.

- Maintain accurate project records and reporting.

Partnership and Stakeholder Development

- Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, champions, and stakeholders.

- Support meaningful community participation in local initiatives.

- Strengthen local partnerships and cooperative approaches to community wellbeing.

Community Intelligence and Insights

- Gather community feedback and local intelligence to identify emerging issues, needs and opportunities.

- Contribute to organisational planning through sharing local insights and community experiences.

- Support engagement with priority populations to promote health equity.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

- Collect participation, activity and outcome data.

- Assist with evaluation activities and continuous improvement processes.

- Prepare reports, case studies and documentation that demonstrate program outcomes.

About You

You will bring:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and at least three years' relevant post-qualification experience, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

- Experience supporting community development, health promotion, prevention or engagement initiatives.





- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Experience working collaboratively with diverse communities and partners.

- Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Confidence using digital systems, databases and communication platforms.

- A commitment to gender equity, health promotion and community-led approaches.

Desirable

- Experience in the women's health, health promotion, community, prevention, not-for-profit or government sectors.

- Understanding of gender equity and intersectional approaches to improving community outcomes.

Employment Conditions

This position is classified under the Women's Health Goulburn North East Enterprise Agreement Level 3, with a salary range of $86,914–$93,604 per annum, plus salary packaging and a motor vehicle allowance. Based in the Ovens Murray Region, the role is offered on a contract, full-time basis and reports to the Community Coordinator – Ovens Murray.

The successful applicant will be required to hold:

- A current unrestricted Victorian Driver Licence.

- A current Working With Children Check.

- Satisfactory reference checks.

- A satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
