The Role

In this parental leave backfill position, you willplay a key role in supporting and driving local climate action in Bendigo. You’ll assist inthe implementation of the Greater Bendigo Zero Emissions Roadmap, through supporting the creation and delivery of climate projects,eventsand communityprograms as well as climate action for internal staff.You will have the opportunity to work with the community and visit community members’ homes to help build their capacity and knowledge to reduce their environmental footprint and take sustainable action.

You will alsoidentify, and contribute to the development of documents for fundraising, advocacy, grants, and submissions to government and develop systems to support the collection, management, interpretation, and reporting of emissions data.

This is a temporary parental leave backfill role to 30 June 2027.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will:

- Have experience in delivering projects and initiatives that support emission reductions across the community, particularly across the household energy and transport sectors
- Valuable understanding of community development, engagement and behaviour change principles and how they apply to climate change mitigation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal together with strong interpersonal skills
- Good report writing skills with excellent time management and organisational skills
- Qualifications and/or experience in climate change education & engagement,



environmental management or sustainability
