Garibaldi Restaurant is seeking a passionate Italian Chef or Italian Cook to join our kitchen team in Melbourne's South.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely loves Italian cuisine and has experience preparing authentic Italian food. We are looking for a chef or cook who understands the flavours, techniques and standards of an Italian restaurant kitchen.

You will prepare and cook Italian dishes, including fresh pasta, handmade pasta, pasta sauces, pizza, antipasti, Italian mains, risotto, seafood, grilled dishes and desserts. Experience in the pasta section, pizza section, Italian hot section or Italian a la carte service will be highly regarded.

To be successful, you should have:
Experience as an Italian Chef, Italian Cook, Pasta Chef, Pizza Chef or Pizzaiolo
Experience working in an Italian restaurant, trattoria, pizzeria or busy Italian kitchen
Solid knowledge of Italian cuisine, Italian cooking techniques and Italian ingredients
Experience making fresh pasta, pasta sauces, pizza dough and pizza
Ability to prepare, cook and present high quality Italian dishes consistently
Positive knife skills, food preparation, plating and timing




Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy Italian restaurant kitchen
Knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene and stock control
A positive attitude, reliability and good teamwork
A relevant cookery qualification is desirable. However, applicants with robust Italian restaurant, pasta or pizza experience are encouraged to apply.

This is an ongoing full time position. Sponsorship under the Subclass 482 visa and a future Subclass 186 permanent residency pathway may be available for an eligible and suitably qualified candidate.
