Golden Palace Chinese Restaurant is an established Chinese restaurant in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, offering traditional Chinese cuisine, yum cha, à la carte dining, banquets and functions.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Cook to join our busy yum cha and Chinese restaurant kitchen team. Working under the Head Chef and senior chefs, you will help with daily kitchen prep and cooking for our yum cha, à la carte, banquet and function services.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook yum cha and Chinese dishes according to established recipes and restaurant standards.

Work across kitchen sections including preparation, steaming, fryer, oven, cold section, soups and stocks.

Check ingredient quality and store food appropriately, and use kitchen equipment safely.

Adjust dishes to meet special dietary requirements when asked.

Work effectively with chefs and other kitchen staff to support productive service.





Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe working environment.

About You

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification.

At least one year of relevant commercial kitchen experience as a Cook.

Experience in a busy restaurant, hotel, banquet, function or high-volume kitchen.

Strong cooking, food preparation and organisational skills.

Valuable understanding of food safety, hygiene and stock rotation.

Reliable, qualified and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills would be advantageous for communication within our kitchen team.

Available for a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Pay: $82,000.00 per year
