Ward7 is seeking a Senior Medical Writer to join our enthusiastic and established team based in Surry Hills, Sydney. Ward7, part of the Ward Marketing Group, is one of Australia’s leading independent healthcare communications agencies. By combining science, creativity and strategy we strive to deliver best-in-class services to our clients in the health and wellness space.

As Senior Medical Writer, you work across a variety of therapeutic areas in close collaboration with Creative, Strategy, and Account Service departments. You will report into the Head of Medical Writing.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- At least 4 years’ experience as a medical writer
- Strong academic background in life sciences (PhD or Masters preferred)
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct
- A passion for thinking creatively
- Ability to take responsibility for meeting deadlines
- Proficient research skills and an enthusiasm for learning about new therapeutic areas

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES





- Develop and write high-quality healthcare content across a range of formats, including detail aids, sales material, journal articles, and digital, social and website content
- Translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, engaging, on-strategy copy for a variety of audiences
- Partner closely with Strategy, Creative and Account Service teams to shape creative concepts and campaign strategy
- Ensure all content complies with the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and internal/client approval processes
- Guide, review and mentor other medical writers, supporting their development and the quality of their output
- Manage multiple projects and competing deadlines across a range of therapeutic areas
- Contribute medical writing expertise to current business pitches and client presentations
- Build strong client relationships, developing a deep understanding of their priorities and therapeutic areas

Salary: $110,000 to $120,000 (including Super)
