The school is seeking an experienced English teacher and leader to take responsibility for the direction and development of its English Faculty from Term 1, 2027.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent ongoing Head of Faculty – English position combining classroom teaching with faculty leadership.

The successful candidate will lead curriculum planning, teaching practice and assessment across English, while supporting and developing teachers within the faculty.

The position currently attracts a $4,798 p.a. Position of Responsibility allowance and 8 periods of leadership release per cycle, with both arrangements due to be reassessed for 2027.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and direction across the English Faculty.
- Lead curriculum planning, assessment and the continued development of English teaching and learning.
- Support, mentor and develop teachers within the faculty.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing faculty culture.




- Maintain a classroom teaching load alongside leadership responsibilities.
- Promote robust student outcomes, engagement and inclusive classroom practice.
- Contribute actively to the wider life and values of the school.
- Be comfortable leading devotions and prayer with staff and students.

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

- Current VIT registration or eligible for it.
- Relevant secondary teaching qualifications with English as a teaching area.
- Strong secondary English curriculum knowledge and classroom experience.
- Previous faculty leadership, curriculum coordination or demonstrated leadership capability.
- Full Australian working rights.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to develop and support other teachers.
- The ability to positively support the values and ethos of the school.
- Christian or Catholic applicants are particularly encouraged to apply given the responsibilities of the leadership position. However, candidates without a religious affiliation are also welcome to apply, provided they are comfortable leading prayer and devotions with staff and students.
