About the Role

We are currently hiring Full time Metal Fabricator/Welders to work in our Dandenong South, VIC Warehouse.

n

Skills and Experience

n

Duties and responsibilities

n

n
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
n
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
n
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
n
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
n




- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
n
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
n
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
n
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting
n
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision
n
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding.
n
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
n
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
n

Working Hours:38 hours / week, Monday to Friday.

n

Morning Shift: 7 am to 3 pm

n

Afternoon Shift: 3 pm to 11 pm

n

Work experience

n

n
- At least 3 years of experience as a Metal Fabricator/Welder
n
- Experience with steel preparation and processing
n

n

Education/Skills

n

n
- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade / equivalent
n
- Good MIG welding/fabrication skills with both hand tools and machines, including cutting, shaping, bending, joining, filing and grinding
n

n

Other qualities

- Ability to follow instructions
n
- Self-motivated and be able to work independently and in a team
n
- Valuable attention to detail
n
- Strong communication skills
n
- Ability to work with hands, lift heavy objects and stand on your feet for long periods of time often doing repetitive motions
n

n

You will also be required to maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard, keep workstations clean and orderly to retain a safe and operational work environment and monitor and report on any potential hazards.
