About the role

n

We're seeking a trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of heavy vehicles and plant at our Geelong site. This is a hands-on workshop role focused on preventative maintenance, fault-finding and repairs to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy vehicles/plant
n
- Diagnose faults (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical) and complete repairs efficiently
n
- Complete breakdown repairs and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime
n
- Conduct safety checks and ensure equipment meets compliance and roadworthy standards (where applicable)
n
- Maintain accurate service/repair records and job cards
n
- Follow site safety procedures, risk assessments and housekeeping standards
n
- Liaise with operations/supervisors regarding vehicle availability and repair priorities
n

Mandatory requirements (must have)

n

n
- Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology / Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Mechanic (or equivalent)
n
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and/or mobile plant
n
- Solid diagnostic and fault-finding capability
n
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and reliable attendance
n
- Ability to work the listed afternoon shift roster in Geelong
n

Highly regarded (nice to have)

n

n
- HR/MR licence
n
- Experience with waste, municipal, fleet, earthmoving or industrial mobile equipment
n
- Hydraulic experience and strong preventative maintenance mindset
n
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and paperwork compliance
n
