ABOUT THE ROLE

n

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate and timely financial processing and reporting.

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, allocating debtor payments and responding to supplier queries.
n
- Ensure invoices are accurately coded, processed and paid within agreed payment terms.
n
- Prepare supplier payment runs, credit applications and maintain accurate supplier records.
n
- Prepare month-end journals and reconciliations, including AP accruals, FBT and prepayments.
n
- Process employee expense claims, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is provided.
n
- Manage company vehicle and machinery registrations and insurance, maintaining accurate records.
n
- Manage fuel cards and other supplier cards, ensuring transactions are appropriately supported and submitted for review.
n
- Complete daily balancing and reconciliations,



ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
n
- Support internal and external audit processes and provide information as required.
n
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies and internal controls.
n

ABOUT YOU

n

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

n

n
- Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
n
- CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards completion)
n
- 2 - 3 years previous experience in an accounting or finance role
n
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
n
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
n
- Robust Excel and Microsoft Office skills
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
n
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
n
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
n

n

Experience in hospitality, clubs, gaming, hotels, restaurants or retail will be highly regarded.

n
