Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Cabinetmaker / Joiner to join our team at our factory in Pakenham, Victoria.

n

About the Role

n

This is a full-time chance for an experienced Cabinetmaker / Joiner to work on a diverse range of custom joinery and furniture projects.

n

The successful applicant will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of custom products including banquette seating, lounges, stools, benches, planters, waste units and other specialised commercial furniture and joinery.

n

The role involves working with both traditional woodworking machinery and modern CNC equipment to manufacture components using solid timber, composite panels and other materials.

n

Key Duties and Responsibilities

n

n
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and plans to determine materials, dimensions and construction requirements;
n
- Manufacturing and assembling custom cabinets, furniture, joinery and associated timber products;
n
- Setting out, cutting, shaping and machining timber, solid wood and composite panel products;
n
- Operating woodworking machinery, hand tools, power tools and CNC equipment;
n
- Constructing and assembling components using appropriate joints, fittings, adhesives and fasteners;
n
- Installing hardware, fittings, fixtures and other components;
n
- Working with materials including solid timber, MDF, particleboard and other composite panels;
n




- Applying and working with finishes and surfaces including high-pressure laminate, veneer and solid-surface products such as Corian;
n
- Jointing, assembling, cladding, laminating and finishing custom furniture and joinery;
n
- Checking completed products for dimensions, alignment, finish and overall quality;
n
- Undertaking adjustments, repairs and modifications where required;
n
- Maintaining tools, machinery and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition;
n
- Following workplace health and safety requirements and safe operating procedures; and
n
- Working collaboratively with designers, production staff and other trades to ensure projects are completed to specification and within required timeframes.

Skills and Experience

n

n
- Relevant trade qualifications in Cabinet Making, Joinery or a closely related field;
n
- Demonstrated experience as a Cabinetmaker, Joiner or similar tradesperson;
n
- Experience across a broad range of cabinet making, joinery and wood machining activities;
n
- Experience working with both solid timber and composite panel products;
n
- Experience using traditional woodworking machinery and power tools;
n
- CNC machining experience or the ability to work with CNC-manufactured components;
n
- Experience working with materials such as high-pressure laminate, veneer and Corian or similar solid-surface products;
n
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications;
n
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship;
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team; and
n
- Strong workplace health and safety awareness.
