Anchor & Aim Support Services is seeking a reliable, patient and encouraging male support worker for a 17-year-old neurodivergent NDIS participant in Heathmont.

The participant has completed Year 10 and would like to return to TAFE following a change in his health. The role will focus on building his confidence, routines and independence while supporting his education, employment and community-participation goals.

Key responsibilities
Build a positive and respectful relationship with the participant
Support motivation, confidence and emotional regulation
Help establish routines and increase independence
Assist with exploring TAFE courses and returning to education
Support employment preparation and community participation
Work collaboratively with the participant, family and Anchor & Aim
Complete accurate shift notes and required documentation

Essential requirements:
Demonstrated experience supporting neurodivergent teenagers or young adults
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR certificates




NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
Australian working rights
Robust communication, reliability and skilled boundaries
Ability to provide person-centred and neurodiversity-affirming support

Preferred:
Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Youth Work, Mental Health, Community Services or a related field
Experience supporting young people to return to education, TAFE or employment
Understanding of autism, ADHD, mental-health challenges and low motivation
Driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance

A formal qualification is preferred; however, applicants with solid, relevant and verifiable experience will also be considered.

The participant has requested a male worker due to his personal support preferences.
