Company Accountant

Are you an experienced Company Accountant looking for a role where you can truly own the finance function?

n

We're seeking an experienced and hands‐on Company Accountant to join a successful, family-focused organisation in South Sydney on a 12‐month temporary contract, covering a period of parental leave.

n

This is a genuine stand‐alone finance role, giving you ownership across the full finance function for a business of approximately 40 employees. You'll work closely with the Directors and wider business, overseeing everything from month‐end and management reporting through to AP, AR and payroll.

The Role:

- Managing the month‐end close
n
- Preparing journals, reconciliations and financial reports
n
- Preparing monthly management reporting
n
- Managing cash flow and forecasting
n
- Managing capital expenditure and financial controls
n
- Overseeing AP, AR and Payroll
n
- Providing financial analysis and insights to the Directors
n
- Maintaining strong financial processes and controls
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance systems and processes
n
- Working alongside an Accounts Administrator who will support the transactional finance function
n
- Acting as the key point of contact for all day‐to‐day finance matters
n

You'll be the go‐to person for all things finance, so we're looking for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety and getting into the detail when required.

About You:

n

- Previous experience as a Company Accountant or in a similar all‐round accounting role
n
- Experience working within a small to medium‐sized business
n
- Solid month‐end and management reporting experience
n
- Solid reconciliation, cash flow and financial control skills
n
- Experience across AP, AR and Payroll
n
- A hands‐on and practical approach
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership
n
- A commercial mindset and willingness to get involved across the business
n
- The ability to hit the ground running
n
