About the role

Are you an experienced Playground Inspector who enjoys a role that combines safety inspections with hands-on maintenance?

n

Green by Nature is looking for a skilled Playground Inspector & Maintenance Team Member toinspect, maintain and help keep council playgrounds and open spaces safe, functional and welcoming for the community.

n

Working across a range of public spaces, you'll take ownership of routine and operational playground inspections while completing preventative and minor maintenance as required.

n

What You'll Be Doing

n

- Conduct routine visual and operational playground inspections in line with required frequencies and relevant standards.
n
- Identify hazards including broken glass, litter, sharp edges, vandalism, damaged equipment and surface hazards.
n
- Inspect playground equipment, moving components, fixings, structural elements and surfacing for signs of wear or damage.
n
- Inspect and maintain softfall areas, including checking surfacing depths and identifying areas requiring attention.
n
- Repair minor damage to rubber wet-pour and playground tiles, including gaps and cracks.
n
- Complete general playground maintenance such as tightening fixings, lubricating chains and bearings, removing rust and sanding splintered timber.
n
- Identify hazards and take appropriate action to repair, isolate or make unsafe areas safe.
n
- Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records and escalated significant defects when required.
n
- Follow all WHS procedures and safe work practices when working in public spaces.

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Level 2 Playground Safety - Operational Inspection qualification (essential).
n
- Minimum 3 years' experience in playground inspection and maintenance (essential)
n
- Robust knowledge of playground hazards, equipment condition and surfacing requirements.
n
- Practical maintenance skills and experience using hand and power tools.
n
- The ability to work independently, manage inspection schedules and maintain accurate records.
n
- A proactive approach to safety, quality and maintaining community assets.
n
- Current Driver Licence.
n
- Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
n
- National Police Check, or willingness to obtain.
n
