Balmer & Associates is a boutique Melbourne law firm who practice exclusively in criminal law. We are on the Victoria Legal Aid Children's, Summary and Indictable crime panel, providing a diverse case load and regular advocacy opportunities.

We are looking for a confident, organised and motivated Lawyer to join our team in a full-time role based in our Melbourne office. This is a 12 - 18 month contract, however we would consider offering an ongoing role if you are the right fit.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the criminal law industry who is looking at working in a supportive and collaborative team environment.

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Conduct criminal law matters and appear in the Magistrates, County and Supreme Courts
n
- Manage your own files and client relationships
n
- Preparation of court documents, submissions and briefs
n
- Maintain high quality file management and professions standards
n




- Liaise with clients and other key stakeholders
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- Admitted solicitor with 1 - 2 years' experience in criminal law
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- A high level of attention to detail
n
- The ability to work independently and use initiative
n
- A professional and confident manner
n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
n
- Supportive and friendly team environment
n
