n $66/hr + 16.5% Super + Income Protection

The Opportunity

n

We're looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter to join the Guide Shop team at a leading steel manufacturing facility in Laverton.

n

This isn't just about filling a short-term vacancy. With some long-standing members of the team reaching retirement, we're looking for someone who wants to settle into the role, become part of the team and build a long-term future at the site.

You'll initially commence on a temp-to-perm basis, with a genuine chance to transition into permanent employment with the client.

n

Working within the Guide Shop, you'll support the Bar Mill and Rod Mill, maintaining, refurbishing and preparing critical equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Maintain, refurbish and recondition Bar Mill and Rod Mill equipment
n
- Prepare and maintain guides, mill rolls and housings
n
- Carry out mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance
n
- Support equipment changeovers and maintenance during mill downtime
n
- Complete welding and fabrication repairs using MIG, TIG and/or ARC
n




- Ensure equipment is ready in line with production requirements
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area
n
- Follow all site safety procedures and requirements
n

What We're Looking For

n

n
- Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills
n
- Welding experience - MIG, TIG and/or ARC
n
- Experience within steel, manufacturing, heavy industry or fixed plant highly regarded
n
- Experience with mill stands, rolls or guide equipment advantageous, but not essential
n
- Forklift licence advantageous
n
- Strong safety focus and a reliable, team-oriented attitude
n
- Someone genuinely looking for a long-term opportunity

- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
