About the Role

n

We are currently seeking full‐time Welders/Metal Fabricators to join our team at our Dandenong South, VIC warehouse.

n

The successful candidates will work closely with the factory supervisor, demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility and pride in their work.

n

Duties and responsibilities:

n

n
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
n
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
n
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
n
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
n
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
n
- Weld components using manual or semi‐automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
n
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
n




- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting
n
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision
n
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding.
n
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
n
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
n

Working Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 7 am to 3 pm

n

Skills and Experience

n

n
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Metal Fabricator/Welder
n
- Experience in steel preparation and processing
n
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
n
- Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills
n
- Proficiency with hand tools and machinery (cutting, shaping, bending, joining, grinding)
n
