An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced Surgical Medical Secretary to join this well-established and very busy ENT practice based in East Melbourne, with occasional flexibility to work at satellite locations in Moonee Ponds and Ringwood (very rare). The practice provides care to both paediatric and adult patients.
You will be part of a friendly and supportive team admin team, working together to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the practice.
This is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, with rostered hours between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm.

The principal responsibilities of the role will include:
- Coordinate front desk reception and register new patients
- Confirm appointments and manage telephone enquiries,
emails, and incoming results
- Schedule consultations and coordinate theatre and surgical bookings
- Prepare patient histories and relevant documentation prior to consultations and surgery
- Process patient billing, receipting and Medicare claims
- Process eclipse billing
- Liaise with health professionals and external organisations, including hospitals, anaesthetists and audiologists
- Prepare patient quotes for both insured and uninsured patients
- Assist with sterilisation of equipment
- Complete hospital admission paperwork and ensure prepayment of surgical accounts
- Use Gentu medical software
- Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Previous experience in a private surgical practice
- Sound experience with surgical bookings and all associated requirements
