Kalos Civil Group is seeking an experienced Civil & Concrete Estimator to join our growing team.

n

We deliver civil construction, earthworks and commercial concrete packages throughout Melbourne. This is an opportunity to take ownership of estimating and tendering while working closely with management, clients, builders, subcontractors and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports and tender documents
n
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates
n
- Price civil, earthworks and commercial concrete packages
n
- Develop labour, plant, material and subcontractor costings
n
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
n
- Prepare tender submissions, scopes, exclusions and clarifications
n
- Identify project risks, opportunities and potential variations
n
- Attend site inspections and tender meetings when required
n
- Maintain estimating rates, templates and supplier information
n
- Assist with project handovers after successful tenders
n
- Support progress claims, variations and commercial reviews
n

- Bulk and detailed earthworks

- Site cuts, soil disposal and material import
n
- Level 1 controlled fill
n
- Excavation and backfilling
n
- Stormwater and underground services
n
- Roads, car parks and hardstands
n
- Retaining walls and drainage
n
- Commercial slabs, footings and foundations
n
- Capping beams and shotcrete walls
n
- Kerbs, pavements and concrete structures
n
- Demolition and remediation works
n

About you

n

n




- Previous estimating experience within civil construction, earthworks or commercial concrete
n
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
n
- Experience completing quantity take-offs and building detailed estimates
n
- Positive understanding of construction methods, production rates and project costs
n
- Strong Excel and general computer skills
n
- Familiarity with estimating or take-off software is highly regarded
n
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
n
- Australian construction experience and an existing industry network will be highly regarded
n
