EXPERIENCED COMMERCIAL KITCHEN STAFF WANTED

Hotelstaff is looking for experienced Catering Assistants and Kitchen Hands to join our Melbourne Talent Team.

This is not an entry-level hospitality role. We are looking for people with genuine experience in commercial kitchens, cafés, catering, education or aged care food service environments who understand professional food safety, hygiene and kitchen practices.

If you know your way around a commercial kitchen, take pride in your work and can be relied upon to turn up ready to work, we want to hear from you.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Proven commercial kitchen or food service experience
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles
- Knowledge of FIFO stock rotation, date labelling and food storage
- Confidence with commercial cleaning, sanitising and chemical use
- A can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in wherever needed
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to the shifts you accept
- Transparent, timely communication with the Hotelstaff team
- Professional, team-focused approach in busy kitchen environments
- Flexible availability across Melbourne venues

THE ROLES

Catering Assistants

Experienced Catering Assistants who can support both kitchen and food service operations.

Experience should include food preparation, basic knife skills, assisting chefs, hot and cold food service, bain-marie operation and display cabinet replenishment.

Café experience is highly regarded,



including heating and plating food, customer service, food displays and register/POS.

Experienced Kitchen Hands who are confident working in a commercial kitchen and understand the importance of maintaining high standards of cleaning, hygiene and food safety.

Experience should include commercial dishwashing and pot washing, cleaning and sanitising food preparation areas and equipment, correct use of commercial cleaning chemicals, waste management and FIFO stock rotation.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

- Do Food Safely or recognised Food Handler / Food Safety certification
- Valid Victorian Working with Children Check — Employee version
- Full Australian Working Rights
- Melbourne-based
- Available to work varied casual shifts
- RSA advantageous
