About the Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI)

TheParent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI) is a vigorous and innovative Australianresearch institute focusing on understanding parent and infant well-being, aswell as developing and delivering treatments (www.piri.org.au). Our mission isto support all parents and their babies in the first 1000 days of life, frompregnancy and throughout infancy. PIRI is based at Austin Health and affiliatedwith the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, University of Melbournethrough joint honorary positions.

We are leadersin digital perinatal depression treatments and hold a NHMRC Centre ofResearch Excellence - STePPS (Science Translation for e-Psychological PerinatalSupports) which aims to reduce the burden of mental health difficulties andincrease uptake e-mental health interventions in the perinatal period. ThisSTePPS CRE (steppscre.org) is a national centre driving the identification,development and translation of online mental health interventions in the first1000 days of a child's life. Our government funded MumSpace initiative todeliver digital treatments and resources for perinatal depression, anxiety andassociated difficulties (www.mumspace.org.au).PIRI is considered an international leader in research in perinatal mentalhealth and its impact on mothers, fathers and infants.

About the role

n

TheParent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI) is seeking an experienced SeniorResearch Fellow with expertise in implementation science to join our growingteam.

n

This is anexciting opportunity to lead research that supports the translation,implementation and scale-up of PIRI's evidence-based digital perinatal mentalhealth programs across health, community and digital service settings. Workingclosely with the Executive Director and Executive Team,



you will play a keyrole in ensuring creative interventions are successfully integrated intoroutine practice and reach more families.

Key responsibilities include:

- Researchand general leadership.

- Leadingand contributing to publications and grant applications.
n
- Leadingimplementation science and translation research.
n
- Designingresearch projects and service improvement initiatives.
n
- Buildingpartnerships with health services, government and community stakeholders.
n
- Providingsupervision and mentoring within multidisciplinary research teams.
n
- Supportingthe dissemination and uptake of evidence-based digital mental healthprograms.

About You

n

You will have:

n

n
- APhD (or equivalent) in psychology, public health, implementation science,health services research or a related discipline.
n
- 5-10years postdoctoral research experience including the design, conduct andanalysis of large trials including RCTs.
n
- Well-developeddata management skills and familiarity with advanced statistical analyses.
n
- Demonstratedexpertise in knowledge translation and health service implementationresearch and the translation of evidence into practice.
n
- Astrong track record of publications and competitive grant applications.
n
- Excellentcommunication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
n
- Experienceworking collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
n
- Outstandingorganizational skills, attention to detail and time management.
n

Experience indigital mental health, perinatal mental health and health service innovationwill be highly regarded.

n

The successfulapplicant will be interested in a career direction in perinatal mental health,take a lead on selected academic tasks, research projects and be involved ingrant applications and publications. In addition, we are looking for anapplicant who may be interested in engaging in policy-relevant dissemination,advocacy and promotion of PIRI's research.
