NextGen Jobs are currently seeking a Parks and Gardens Apprentice to join a Victorian City Council.

Your Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship at a glance:

- Where: Croydon, VIC
- Team: Supportive work culture with apprentices and supervisors all working towards the same goal
- Length: 3-years, earning while you learn
- Study: Certificate III in Parks and Gardens through TAFE, fees covered
- Hours: Full-Time, 9-day Fortnight working weekdays 7:30am-4:30pm

What You'll Actually Be Doing:

- Support the maintenance and presentation of parks, reserves, waterways, open spaces and other Council-managed areas across the municipality
- Weeding, herbicide application, brush-cutting, mowing, mulching, pruning, path and fencing repairs, nursery operations and other general horticultural maintenance activities
- Regularly inspect Council parks, reserves and open space areas to identify maintenance requirements, hazards, damage or deterioration, and promptly report issues including unsafe or damaged park fixtures, infrastructure and amenities
- Accurately complete daily timesheets, maintenance requests, work records and quality management documentation in accordance with Council procedures and requirements
- Participate in relevant training, development activities and apprenticeship programs to build horticultural knowledge, practical skills and workplace capability in line with apprenticeship requirements
- Safely operate,



maintain and care for Council vehicles, plant, tools and equipment, ensuring they are used in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, operating procedures and relevant standards
