In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of air import shipments, ensuring seamless coordination between customers, transport providers, warehouse operations, and internal stakeholders.

About the Role

n

As a Senior Freight Officer, you will oversee the end-to-end processing of air import shipments, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery outcomes. You will play a critical role in coordinating under-bond movements through the Sydney gateway, arranging transport services, maintaining operational data integrity, and providing outstanding support to customers and vendors.

You will also act as a key escalation point for operational issues and work closely with the Air Import Team Leader to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Manage end-to-end air import freight operations from arrival through to final delivery.
n
- Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation including Air Waybills (AWBs), invoices, and related import documentation.
n
- Ensure accurate completion of freight job files and operational documentation to support timely invoicing.
n
- Maintain accurate and real-time shipment information within operational systems.
n
- Proactively monitor shipment progress and resolve delays, exceptions, or service issues to achieve on-time delivery.
n
- Coordinate Sydney gateway under-bond transfers and arrange local cartage with transport partners.
n




- Support warehouse administration activities to assist inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
n
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational processes.
n
- Provide proactive shipment updates and exceptional customer service to clients.
n
- Liaise with customs brokers, suppliers, transport providers, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless freight movement.
n
- Escalate complex operational issues, shipment delays, or service risks to the Air Import Team Leader.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support operational changes as required.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

n

n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in freight forwarding, with robust exposure to air import operations.
n
- Advanced working knowledge of CargoWise One (CW1), which is essential.
n
- Experience using ICS and Expedient systems will be highly regarded.
n
- Air freight import processes
n
- Under-bond cargo movements
n
- Incoterms
n
- IATA regulations
n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving operational issues
n
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry
n
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Flexibility and adaptability to support changing operational requirements across the department.
