BDK Labour Hire is currently seeking experienced Precast Steel Fixers to join a busy precast concrete yard located in Melbourne's North and West. Work will be carried out in a precast yard alongside skilled Formworkers and Concreters. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking ongoing, stable work with the potential to transition into full time employment based on performance.

Key responsibilities

- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for steel reinforcement placement.
- Install and secure steel reinforcement (e.g., rebar, mesh) into precast concrete molds as per engineer drawings.
- Cut, bend, and tie steel bars to form reinforcement cages/frames.
- Assist in the preparation and setup of formwork and molds.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and timeline requirements.
- Operate steel fixing tools and machinery as required.

About you

- Minimum 2 years of steel fixing experience in precast environments
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Valid Construction Induction (White Card)

- Valid Driver's License and reliable transport – Mandatory
- Work rights in Australia
- Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol Screening
- Physically fit and safety-focused
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
