Afternoon Production Operator – Step Up from Pick/Pack n

$33 – $36 per hour incl. afternoon loading

Mediapoint is a trade-only wide-format print business in Derrimut. We've been running for 20 years, and every afternoon a queue of jobs moves through finishing, QA, packing and dispatch. We're looking for one more operator to keep it moving.

n

This is a step up from warehouse work. You'll still pack and dispatch, but you'll also be trained on cutting and finishing equipment and take on more responsibility as you go. It suits someone who's been the fast, accurate one on the floor, the person the supervisor put in charge when they weren't there, and who's ready for more than picking another 800 lines a shift.

What you'll be doing

n

Finishing: cutting, trimming, eyelets, hemming, handwork

n

QA: checking every job against the ticket before it's packed

n

Packing and dispatch: boxing, wrapping, labelling, booking freight

n

Inventory: stock counts, receiving deliveries, keeping materials organised

n

General production support: keeping stations stocked and jobs flowing

n

Moving between tasks as the workload shifts

n

You won't be doing one task all day. We move people to where the work is.

n

Full training provided. What we can't teach is caring whether the job's right, checking your own work, and fixing a problem when you see it rather than waiting for someone to notice.

What we're looking for

n

Leading hand, 2IC or line lead experience in a warehouse, dispatch or production environment

n

Fast, steady and accurate: you work at pace without dropping quality

n

Follows systems and processes properly, and speaks up when one could be better

n

Clear English and comfortable using a computer for job tickets and freight bookings

n

People who need constant chat or supervision to stay motivated

People who move slowly, or who are fast but sloppy

Hours and pay

n

2:00pm – 10:00pm, Monday to Friday

n

$33 – $36 per hour including afternoon loading, depending on experience

n

Paid trial shifts, then full time for the right person
