Architect - Multi-Residential & Commercial | Glen Iris

We're an architecture, interiors and town planning practice in Glen Iris, working across apartment, mixed-use and commercial development in Melbourne. We take projects from feasibility and planning approval through to construction issue and completion.

Planning, architecture and interiors sit in the one studio. That means the documentation you produce is shaped by the planning strategy behind it, rather than inherited second-hand from another consultant.

The role

n

We're expanding our 2026 pipeline and want an architect to own delivery on multi-storey projects.

n

You'd lead documentation packages from planning through construction issue and site, run consultant coordination, and deal directly with authorities and certifiers. Real ownership – you won't be documenting someone else's package to someone else's brief.

What the next twelve months look like: apartment and mixed-use projects moving through building permit and IFC, commercial work in design development, and planning submissions coming out of our own town planning team.

What we're looking for

n

Australian documentation experience on multi-storey buildings. Apartments, offices and commercial, hotels and serviced apartments, student accommodation, aged care or childcare – any of these. We weight typology depth over years served.

Three or more years post-graduate in an Australian practice, concentrated on that kind of work. Experience gained at a single practice is not a disadvantage. We're interested in what you've delivered.

Advanced Revit – model setup, families, sheet management and consultant model coordination.

n

Working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and Victorian planning processes.

n

M.Arch or equivalent. ARBV registration or on the pathway – we support the remainder, including study time and examination costs.

n

Practical, not essential: Enscape, Lumion or Twinmotion; Rhino; AutoCAD; experience under design and construct or novated contracts.

One note on fit: this work involves fire engineering, essential services coordination and multi-consultant documentation. If your experience is entirely single dwellings, townhouses or interior fitouts, this role isn't structured to support that transition.
