We are currently looking for experienced Telecommunications Technicians and NSW Licensed Electricians to join our NSW team.
n
We are interested in hearing from experienced telecommunications technicians as well as qualified electricians looking to work within the telecommunications, communications infrastructure and critical network environment.
n
About the Roles
n
Our WA team delivers a broad range of telecommunications installation, electrical, transmission, fibre, power, maintenance and network project work.
n
Depending on your skills and experience, your work may include:
n
n
- Telecommunications equipment installation and commissioning
n
- Telecommunications exchange and network infrastructure
n
- AC and DC electrical works
n
- DC telecommunications power systems
n
- Equipment racks, cabinets and associated infrastructure
n
- Fibre and copper cabling
n
- Optical fibre splicing and testing
n
- Transmission equipment
n
- Routers, switches and network equipment
n
- Equipment upgrades and replacements
n
- Network maintenance and fault rectification
n
- Testing and commissioning
n
- Equipment and infrastructure decommissioning
n
n
You will work across customer telecommunications facilities, exchanges and other network sites throughout the Perth metropolitan area, with opportunities for regional WA work as required.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Depending on your qualifications and experience, responsibilities may include:
n
n
- Interpret construction, electrical, telecommunications and design packs
n
- Complete installations in accordance with customer specifications and Australian Standards
n
- Install and construct telecommunications infrastructure
n
- Install telecommunications equipment, racks, cabinets, routers, switches and transmission equipment
n
- Undertake AC and DC electrical installation works
n
- Install and maintain telecommunications DC power systems
n
- Install, terminate, label and test electrical, copper and fibre cabling
n
- Undertake optical fibre splicing and testing where qualified
n
- Carry out testing, commissioning and integration
n
- Diagnose faults and equipment malfunctions
n
- Undertake maintenance,
repairs, upgrades and equipment replacement
n
- Complete equipment and network decommissioning works
n
- Complete as-built documentation, DBoR, TNI and customer asset records
n
- Accurately record installed, removed and existing customer assets
n
- Participate in site planning, pre-starts, toolbox meetings, SWMS and JSA processes
n
- Follow customer WINS, MOPS, Hazard Permits and site procedures
n
- Liaise with Supervisors, Project Managers, customers and other technicians
n
- Maintain a secure, clean and professional worksite
n
- Comply with Syndicate Communications and customer WHS, environmental, quality and security requirements
n
n
Telecommunications Technicians
n
For our Telecommunications Technician positions, experience in several of the following areas would be highly regarded:
n
n
- Telecommunications exchange environments
n
- ISAM and DSLAM equipment
n
- SDH, DWDM and transmission networks
n
- Exchange cabling including Cat 5, Cat 6 and fibre
n
- Telstra DBoR systems and access
n
- Optical fibre splicing and testing
n
- Telecommunications rack and ironwork construction
n
- Telstra infrastructure standards including CN1234
n
- DC telecommunications power systems
n
- Cable installation and termination
n
- Telecommunications equipment installation
n
- Equipment testing and commissioning
n
- Network maintenance and fault rectification
n
- Equipment recovery and decommissioning
n
n
Licensed Electricians
n
We are also looking for WA Licensed Electricians to join our telecommunications project teams.
n
Previous telecommunications experience is highly regarded but is not essential for the right electrician.
n
Electricians with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
n

- Commercial or industrial electrical installations
n
- Telecommunications facilities or data centres
n
- AC and DC power systems
n
- Switchboards and distribution systems
n
- Electrical equipment installation and replacement
n
- Cable installation, termination and testing
n
- Equipment racks and cabinets
n
- UPS and battery systems
n
- Electrical maintenance and fault finding
n
- Testing and commissioning
n
- Electrical infrastructure upgrades
n
- Critical infrastructure environments
n
n
Training and exposure to telecommunications-specific systems and customer requirements can be provided to suitable candidates.
n

n

- Registered Cabler licence
n
- Construction Industry White Card
n
- Telecommunications industry competencies and customer accreditations
n
- Fibre splicing and testing competencies
n
- Current Australian driver's licence
n

Electricians
n
Applicants for electrical positions must hold:

- Current NSW Electrical Workers Licence
n
- Construction Industry White Card
n
- Current Australian driver's licence
n
n
Additional telecommunications, communications, fibre, data centre, DC power or customer accreditations will be highly regarded.
