About the Opportunity

Xenco is partnering with a major mining operator to find a Water Management Specialist to join their mine planning team on a fixed-term contract. This role sits at the heart of short and medium-term planning, providing the technical judgement needed to keep water risk, dewatering strategy, and site infrastructure aligned with production targets. You'll work alongside planning engineers and site technical teams, bringing an independent, evidence-based voice to decisions that carry real operational consequences.

What You'll Do

- Build and maintain water balance and dewatering models that reflect real pit sequencing, rainfall patterns, and inflow conditions
n
- Turn technical modelling into clear, decision-ready advice for planners and site leadership
n
- Question planning assumptions whenever water risk threatens delivery, and push back where needed
n
- Keep a explicit record of the data, assumptions, and limitations behind every model you produce
n
- Flag emerging water-related risks early,



before they become safety, environmental, or production issues

What You Bring

n

n
- A background in water management, hydrogeology, or hydrology within mining or a comparable heavy industry
n
- Demonstrated proficiency in GoldSim is essential
n
- Hands-on experience building dewatering scenarios and water balance models that stand up to scrutiny
n
- Working knowledge of pit sequencing, ground and surface water behaviour, and site water infrastructure
n
- A relevant qualification in engineering, hydrogeology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
n
- The confidence to challenge planning decisions and communicate technical risk to a non-technical audience
