Southern Plants in Dromana is looking for a reliable, hands-on Truck Driver & Nursery Assistant to join our team at one of Australia's largest and most well-regarded wholesale nurseries. This varied role combines local truck driving, order preparation, dispatch support, and nursery-based tasks — perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in presentation, and values safety. You'll drive a brand recent Isuzu HR truck with excellent driver comfort and modern tech, delivering plants across South East Melbourne and surrounding areas. Our largest plants are 20cm pots (around 3kg) hand-loaded onto trolleys — there's no handling of large or heavy trees.

Key responsibilities

- Safely picking up and delivering nursery stock across South East Melbourne and nearby regions
n
- Merchandising plants at trade markets and customer sites, maintaining high presentation standards
n
- Completing daily pre-start checks and maintaining vehicle cleanliness
n
- Assisting with picking, packing, labelling, and preparing orders for dispatch
n
- Supporting stock management at external yards, including facing up, weeding, and watering
n
- Loading trucks and using iPads/scanners to process orders
n
- Operating a forklift safely around the nursery as required
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised,



and safe dispatch area

- Following safe work procedures and contributing to a strong safety-first culture
n

About you

n

n
- MR or HR Truck Licence (minimum 12 months' experience preferred)
n
- Strong communication and customer service skills
n
- Reliable, organised, and able to follow procedures
n
- Good eye for plant quality and presentation
n
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling, outdoors in all weather
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Basic digital literacy (iPad/scanner experience an advantage)
n
- Horticulture or nursery experience desirable
n
